I used to love Bar IV back in the day but the sad thing is that it looks the same now as it did then and is in dire need of an extreme makeover.
The conservatory style bamboo furniture is just too naff for words and when you accompany them with those vile brown coloured walls and dirty battered old toilets, it doesn't make it a place worth reccommending!
Please Bar IV sort it out and bring the place into 2008!!

Bar IV used to be my pre-dinner bar of choice. It was sufficiently over-priced to keep the crowd to a minimum (yes, I'm a crowd snob and proud of it!), had a great choice of proper cocktails and a unique wine pricing policy. It seems to have become a victim of its own success though, and is usually jam-packed by 7:30, which means I'm off up the road to Tonic (which itself has gone downhill since a change of management in the middle of 2007). Go to Bar IV if you want a loud, funky crowd (through which you have to spend 20 minutes fighting every time you want a drink) and a good choice of drinks, but look elsewhere for something quiet or with a touch of sophistication.
