And I would just like to add my thanks to Mik and Pat as well, a lovely spread and variation of food, people I have spoke to at work also said it was lovely (some even had sausage rolls for lunch at work on Monday)......Thanks again, and for all the smashing gifts we received xxx

Just like to say a big thanks to everyone who turned up on Saturday for our 25th Party...a good time was had by all we hope. Thanks for the presents,cards etc and finally a big thanks to Mik & Pat for a lovely spread which we we're still tucking into on Sunday lunch-time..!!

Yes something good coming next week 70snight on may 2nd come dressed up or not up to you but join us for a good night out, support your local pub as two of our local pubs are closing this year .Watch this space for when pat and mick are giving us a disco have been told it is in MAY.

just a comment to sad but true, you are quick t0 slate someone behind a made up name, and don't realise the trouble you are causing to inocent people who are taking the blame on your behalf,
if you have a problem with someone at the hind you should be man or women enough to stand up and say to their face and say so, the hind is doing really well to get rid of the unjustified bad reputation it has without people like you bad mouthing it and running it down, you are nothing but a coward and a no body and we all know that you will continue to sit back and say and do nothing, whilst believe it or not still continuing to go up there and mix with us all

why dont you people who keep having bad things to say about the hind keep going in there if u dont like it stay out mik and pat are far by the best people who have been in there and are turning it around,a little appriciation wouldnt go a miss to them at least there doing there best

yes its quiet,but if people were to give it a go they might be pleasently surprised,its not always rock music, there has been a 70s band also a soul music band,there is a band called mohawk up there on the 18th, apparently they are very good and play at a lot of the good music venues in the town,if you were to look back at the reviews you would see that some of the bands have even put reveiws on themselves,go on be a devil and try it out.good luck pat and mik.

I agree with Jamie, support your local I hope for one that Pat and Mik do get the licence, at least it will keep out the riff raff and trouble makers that have been barred, we certainly dont want them back, maybe it is a bit quite, but come on....it is just after Xmas and some people do not get paid till end of January.

pat and mick are a good couple i wish people would give them a bit more support some people dont know what a bad company they work for in spectre leisure they make a lot of the rules and expect pat and mick to abide by them and then these 2 nice people get all the flack. Yes julie and david times were good but as always things change the same as when lynn and trish were there lets hope that this place does not end up like the oak boarded up or if the rumours are right shutting down like the race then there will be none of the old skool places to have a night out

to jamie, we wont be whingin when its shut again, best thing 4 it at the moment its totally dead in there thats why we have all been goin elsewhere, it may cost us taxi fares but at least we get a good night out in a packed pub with decent music, i might as well sit at home as to be in the hind, its sooooooooooooo boring now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would b nice if they had entertainment 2 suit every 1 not just themselves. Mayb a disco would get people back not every 1 wants live music all the time.I c it"s 2 let yet again! Heard new years eve was a let down!!!!!!!!!!

well well well up 4 sale again, not surprised really come back julie nd david, the pub dosnt cater for the customers anymore we dont want live music all the time maybe once a month but not all the while surely you could put a disco or karaoke on now nd again!!!!! maybe the place was abit rough round the edges nd maybe there was a few scraps but what pub dosnt get trouble here nd there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least the pub was buzzing back then nd not dead like it is now i really do hope sum one takes it over who cares about the locals nd not themselves if we want live music we would go to the railway at least they have different bands each week. anyway to whoever takes the pub on just think about what the locals want it use 2 be all ages comin in there .AND GOOD LUCK MAYBE WE WILL ALL COME BACK SOON

the people who know toni realise that she does'nt start the trouble unless someone starts with her or her family she is a lovely lady and a good person to know,as for the hind being taken over people will be very surprised to see who it will be.if people were to support the hind rather than slag it off, it might never have gone up for sale again all it needs is a few more loyal regulars.also we were all very sad to hear about sharon all our thoughts to you brian and family

Sorry, but I dont agree with "not suprised" I support the pub during the week and lunchtimes Sat/Sun, we dont go down the pub when live music is on. If people want to support Mik and Pat, they can go after work for a quick drink, not just moan about the music on a weekend, I agree with the person before "not suprised" the pub needs a kitchen. I support you Mik & Pat xx

Afraid to say it's no surprise that the Hind is on market again! In my opinion the lack of custom is nothing to do with food or heating it's more down to the fact that customers are not getting what they want. The live bands playing regularly, are not everyone's cup of tea (or pint of lager) just because Pat and Mik are into the rock scene doesn't mean everyone is! Give the customers what they want and they will come flocking back!

So Punch have put the pub back on the market. Not making them enough money I suppose despite the herioc efforts of Mik & Pat. Pity they didn't sort the kitchen out when they did the refurb...the lack of good food could be one of the main factors as to why custom hasn't increased (as well as the still ineffective heating system),especially with the other three pubs close by being food orientated. It will be a sad day if we were to lose M & P due to a takeover....

Good night at hind on sat group storm have been there before.Iam not a big rock fan myself but nearly allways enjoy myself the night is what you make it.We are a friendly lot up there now come along and join us we kmow how to have a good time.

Was thinking the same thing myself.has got a bit dull in there just need some more people to support there local but not every one likes rock bands.SO whatabout a good old disco hopefully on nov 3rd watch this space and if we do get it please tell everyone u all know so the pub is packed out come on u old faces get your disco dancing shoes out let u all know for sure in next couple of days.

I can only echo what m'bass player said. It was a joy to play at the Hind on Sept 7th and meet some faces that i hadn't seen for over 20 years. It is very rare that publicans go to the trouble that Pat and Mik did to lay on a 70's themed fancy dress night and it was equally good to see so many people get in the spirit of things and dress for the occasion (or in the case of the streaker, undress for the occasion - how 70's was that? - just a shame it wasn't Erica Rowe - still next time eh?). We as a band pass our sincere thanks to you all and really look forward to seeing you all again. Cheers, Graham

had a great time in hind last night starting to get a bit like old times in there a few of us girls getting togeather in our local no trouble though that is in answer to the gentleman who was in royal oak last friday when popped in and said i was going to hind.his answer was oh friday night is fight night in there not any more pat and mick have it under control so come on u old regulars come to the seventies night friday the 7th and have a greattime sorry mick hope i did not wind u up to much about a disco last night.

This review is because I appreciate all the hard work Mick and Pat have and continue to put into The Golden Hind. I hadnt been in there for years, they didnt know me and I didnt know them, and they made me feel really welcome there. They always have time for you, even to play pool eh mick?! =D whats the score now? 7-6 to you? =) All the people are extremely friendly! il continue to go there! I have a pool score to sort with Mick ;)

right then.this is the first time i have made the decision to make comment on this site. its a shame bout the wingeing. maybe those people need reminding of the way things used to be ie a discustingly filthy dive of a pub with licencees who didnt give a toss. filthy loos, manky glasses, beer lines that didnt seem to have ever seen beer line cleaner and every surface vertical or horizontal thick with ingrained muck throughout the whole pub. A lot of my and pats time has gone into draging this place up to a standard that the regulars can be proud of. We have allways been professional with respect to our job, both here and our other pubs and clubs. most of the people who decide to drink here know and respect that. shame bout the wingeing few who i suspect will allways find summut to bitch about no matter where they go. Come on now, cut us some slack, we go above and beond our remit here.

unfortunately yes the pub was closed. mik had worked 24 hours on the saturday and pat worked 19 hours it was the first time that the pub had been closed with out notice. mik and pat have worked relentlessly without one day off since january if you think you can do better i suggest you talk to them if you had been in the pub on the sat night you would see why they needed time off they actually got an hour or two to themselves the rest of the time was spent cleaning the pub making it fit to open. give them a break
